Description:

The office of Community & Government Relations is seeking a proactive, detail oriented individual to help support the mission and goals of Southern Utah University and the office. Goals will include increasing general community outreach and communication efforts including growing an online and social media presence and increasing digital outreach, establishing avenues for community communication and correspondence, collaborating with and supporting internal and external organizations and associated projects, and supporting duties. The individual will gain insight into the complex nature of higher education administration and public relations, project management and professional communication capabilities, and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties.
  • Communication and correspondence with community members .
  • Establish and maintain online presence and increased outreach .
  • Facilitation and execution of collaborative programs and projects with internal and external partners .
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written .
  • Web design and/or social media management capabilities.
  • Graphic design experience, or willingness to learn .
  • Organizational skills to coordinate and complete multiple projects simultaneously.
